Belarus suspended the export of light petroleum products due to poor Russian oil

Belarus has suspended the export of light petroleum products (kerosene, gasoline, diesel fuel, etc.) to Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic countries due to the supply of poor-quality Russian oil. This was announced by the Deputy General Director for Commercial Issues of the Belarusian Oil Company Sergey Grib, quoted by the agency BelTA .
Contract obligations are suspended until the issue with Russian oil is resolved. Mushroom explained the Minsk decision with the need to provide the domestic market with oil products. Belarus is working to avoid sanctions due to the suspension of exports, and assesses the damage.
"Products that are not consumed in the markets of neighboring countries, the so-called dark oil products, we sell through the ports of the Baltic Sea in the direction of the countries of the far arc," said Mushroom.
Poor Russian oil has led to the failure of expensive equipment at the Mozyr Oil Refinery. The second Belarusian refinery, Naftan, in order to avoid such a scenario, was forced to drastically reduce the processing of crude oil.
Mushroom also said that Belarus expects to start importing alternative oil to Russian oil through the ports of the Baltic countries or Ukraine by the end of the year. The specific route will depend on the conditions of neighboring countries for transshipment and transportation.
We remind that Belneftekhim discovered in the Russian Urals export mix, which comes in transit to the section of the trunk pipeline of the OJSC Gomeltransneft Druzhba, increased content of organochlorine compounds with increased corrosive activity tens of times.
The Russian Transneft PJSC found out that the source of oil pollution is on the Samara-Unecha pipeline site. The company promised to deal with the problem by the beginning of this week. Representatives of Belarus reported that they were waiting for the resumption of deliveries of "clean" oil from Russia not earlier than in 8-10 days.
