Modern processors are based on extra large integrated circuits (VLSIs) and contain hundreds of millions of transistors. 
As it turned out, when creating microprocessors, one can not simply extensively increase the number of transistors, as this leads to an excessively high heat release, which does not give a gain in speed, but, on against, is the cause of malfunctions 
Modern scientific methods and engineering developments allow creating transistors with energy consumption in millionths of a watt. Such transistors have dimensions of several tens of nanometers (!).
This miniaturization allows you to place up to one billion transistors in one crystal. The performance of modern microprocessors is tens of millions of times higher than the first computers on electron tubes. The application of nanotechnology in the field of computer technology is not limited to the creation of microprocessors.

SSD-disk - a device for long-term storage of information. It is an alternative to traditional hard drives. Instead of mechanical parts and magnetic disks, SSDs use special flash memory.
