Vegetables and fruits can aggravate diseases

The use of certain fruits, vegetables and spices can cause additional problems in people suffering from hay fever
The use of certain fruits, vegetables and spices can cause additional problems in people suffering from hay fever. This is due to the fact that 40% of the victims of this disease also have some food allergies, as the British researchers found.

The Allergy UK Allergy UK Allergy Society has conducted a study that showed that food allergies can enhance the symptoms of hay fever, also called pollinosis in medicine. This is a chronic allergic disease caused by the pollen of various plants. The combination of food allergies and hay fever can lead to the fact that some people will suffer from the symptoms of pollinosis all year round.

And others will show typical signs of food allergy, such as itching in the mouth, swelling of the lips and even difficulties with breathing. As the researchers found, 40% of the victims of hay fever are allergic to nuts, fruits, vegetables or spices. This is due to the fact that allergy-producing proteins in some foods also cause a cross-reaction in some people suffering from hay fever.

"When these people eat certain vegetables, fruits and spices that contain protein similar to vegetable, it can cause an allergic reaction," says Lindsay McManus of Allergy UK. "Fifteen years ago, oral allergic syndrome was considered something rather unusual, but today it is becomes common, his victims experience itching in the mouth, swelling of the lips and tongue. "
